Our brand new nursery space is designed for play and exploration - a centre of fun and imagination, where children are nurtured and encouraged by our team of experienced nursery staff, to learn through discovery and invention.
Located just off Clovelly road in Bideford, North Devon, we are proud to have purpose built our indoor and outdoor nursery facilities with an open plan design and natural lighting in mind.
Our free on-site parking is essential for that quick drop off and pick up when needed.
We strive to provide the same high standards of childcare, education and parental convenience to Bideford and the surrounding areas, that we have always provided within our swimming lessons.
Our Nursery Welcomes children from ages 0 - 5 years.
Welcoming children from 3 months through to 5 years old from Bideford and the surrounding areas of North Devon. The open plan design of our nursery facilities allows for a smooth transition when they graduate from babies to preschoolers.
Our age dependent nursery facilities ensure all children in our care are within a childcare environment where they’ll thrive throughout the Early Years framework.
Our experienced team are on hand throughout their journey. We support children’s learning, development and independence from their first day at our nursery, right through to their first day of school and beyond. Our Nursery Manager will personally guide you both through this and liaise with your new school to ensure they are fully aware of your child's early learning journey.
Wraparound childcare to support your work day.
Providing childcare between 8am – 6pm, we’re here in before and after the working day.
We understand that not every caregiver wants to return to the office full time, which is why our half-day care calendar facilitates morning, afternoon or full-day care requirements, allocated in 5 hour periods.*
*Children are required to attend a minimum of 2 bookings per week. This aids in creating familiarity and therefore comfort with our nursery environment and practitioners.

Your children’s development sits at the heart of everything at Make Waves Nursery. We understand every child is different; some children settle in quickly, while others take a little longer. Our dedicated team of nursery professionals, qualified to a minimum of level 3, support each individual’s step-by-step on their journey through nursery life.
Our nursery cook is on hand every day to provide a varied and nutritional menu. All dietary requirements can be met for both hot and cold meals.
Alongside our childcare facilities, Make Waves specialises in swimming lessons through our dedicated swim school. All nursery attendees receive one free swimming lesson per month as part of our service.
Make Waves onsite Soft Play is also available for free during off-peak times, for children enrolled in our nursery.

Our nursery accepts Government funded childcare.
If you benefit from the government funding, we accept both 15 and 30 hour provisions. This can be delivered term-time only, or thanks to the stretched model, year round.
The process to claim is relatively straightforward, an online form will establish if you’re eligible. If you qualify, you’ll be provided with a unique code that, once shared with our nursery team, enables us to claim the funded support on your behalf.

Yes, you’re welcome to book a visit to see the nursery for yourself. We’re currently experienced a high demand on tours so there may be limited availability.
