Swimming Lessons
Payment:

Lessons may also be paid in advance quarterly via BACS, cash or card. Prior written agreement must be made via acsmakewaves@gmail.com.
Lessons run at Town Mills pool in Torrington will only run in term time and as such must be paid by BACS, cash or card in advance of each term.
Direct debit amounts are calculated as follows; price of lesson, multiplied by the number of lessons per year, divided by the number of months per year.
The first payment may be a different amount based on the number of lessons remaining in the month at the time of booking.
Make Waves Swim School Ltd will deem a swimmer’s offered position terminated by a lack of advance payment or communication regarding the same.
Cancellation and Refunds:
Cancellations within your 14 day Cooling Off Period will be refunded minus the cost of any lessons provided.
Cancellations after your 14 day Cooling Off Period will not be refunded.
Cancellation requests must be made in writing to acsmakewaves@gmail.com a minimum of 2 weeks prior to your next direct debit.
Lessons cancelled by Make Waves for any reason will be rearranged. If they cannot be rearranged, a credit will be applied to your Make Waves Swim School Ltd account.
Credits may be deducted from future direct debits for swimming lessons or used toward other products and services available from Make Waves Swim School Ltd, excluding food and drink.
Credits may also be gifted to another current or new swimmer. Please note that the value of the lesson may be gifted, not the specific class day and time.
Credits have no expiry date.
Missed Lessons:
Each swimmer is entitled to 2 make up lessons per year. These are to used during school holidays and may not be rearranged, banked or rolled over. Make up lessons are subject to availability and may not be booked more than one week in advance.
Further make up lessons may be granted upon written receipt of a request for exceptional circumstances. If granted, make-up lessons are subject to availability, and must be taken within one month of the initial absence. Make-up lessons may not be re-booked and as such can only be booked in the week of intended attendance.
Waves Soft Play:
Make Waves Swim School Ltd swimmers will receive a Seahorse Squad membership to Waves Soft Play. This entitles FREE access during off peak times (weekdays during term time). Swimmers may attend the session before or after their lessons during peak times (weekends and school holidays) if the session/s are not fully booked.
Seahorse Squad memberships will be revoked upon cancellation of swimming lessons.
Soft Play Terms and Conditions must be followed.
Data Protection Act 2018
Make Waves Swim School Ltd collects and stores data on our swimmers supplied directly by our clients via enrolment forms, emails, social media, telephone and face to face conversations. We use this information to organise, structure and plan our swimming lessons that you have paid Make Waves Swim School Ltd to deliver. We promise not to hold ANY third party information about you. Make Waves Swim School Ltd only collects data in relation to the completion of effective swimming lessons and will not retain information that is not necessary.
Make Waves Swim School Ltd and “we” include the swimming instructors and administrative staff contracted to manage, organise and deliver the lessons provided.
Make Waves Swim School Ltd will NOT, without your prior permission, sell, publish or share information you have entrusted to us.

Pool Hire
Payment is required to confirm your booking. Your booking will be cancelled if payment has not been received within 12 hours of booking confirmation.
One of the booking party must be over 18.
A ratio of 1 adult to every 2 children under 1.4m tall is required (i.e. won’t be able to stand in the pool).
Everyone has to shower before entering the pool.
No jewellery to be worn in the pool. (Particularly earrings).
Any children not 100% toilet trained must wear a swim nappy (disposable or swim version of a reusable) WITH a neoprene style over nappy on top. You cannot swim with your child if you do not have both types of nappies, disposable first, then neoprene nappy over the top.
Floats must be used with caution, and kept at least 1m from the side of the pool.
Each slot is 60 minutes. Your time slot is for the agreed time only. It will not be extended if you are early or late.
No furniture or equipment to be removed from the pool complex.
All users should be in good health and it is your responsibility to ensure that the pool, the pool chemicals and the pool environment will not affect any medical condition they suffer from by your doctor in a consultation if necessary.
No one is to use the pool under the influence of alcohol or drugs
No food, drink or breakables may be used in the pool or anywhere else including the changing room.
For any bookings, cancellations within 48 hours of the booked time will be charged at the full amount unless we can fill the slot. The booking is not transferable unless authorised by Make Waves Swim School Ltd.
Any damages at all, must be paid for in full by the lead hirer / person booking the private slot.
By paying for a slot the payee accepts the T & Cs in full. The individual that pays (payee) enters into an agreement with Make Waves Swim School Ltd (of Unit 6 Hockin Park, Caddsdown Industrial Estate, EX39 3DX) that any damage during that slot (or discovered after that slot) however caused, shall be paid for in full by the payee. The payee will receive written confirmation of the cost of repairs required for any damage and be required to pay for those repairs within 14 calendar days of receiving the written confirmation of cost and repairs.
Waves Soft Play
Cancellations & refunds:
Should you wish to cancel your Waves Soft Play session, please note that Make Waves Swim School Ltd can only provide a voucher for an alternative session if you cancel 48 hours or more before the session starts.
For any cancellations made by Waves Soft Play, the customer will receive their payment back in full. We reserve the right to cancel at any point. Any special requests made are requests that we may not be able to fulfil.
Rules of Play:
No sharp objects may be taken into the play area.
Socks must be worn at all times.
Children are the parent’s responsibility in the play area and should be supervised at all times.
Guilty parties may be asked to leave.
NO waiting or playing at the bottom of the slide.
Children should be encouraged to use the toilet before entering the play area.
Only 1 person at a time may ride the slides.
No glassware or breakables are allowed in the play area.
No food, drink or chewing gum to be taken into the play area.
When entering the play area, under 5’s should be accompanied.
Fighting or bullying will not be tolerated.
The use of balls and other loose objects as missiles is strictly forbidden.
Children who are unwell must NOT enter the play area.
NO climbing up slides.
Climbing on the netted walls or play structure is strictly forbidden.
To avoid injury, slide feet first with elbows tucked in.
Any accident or injury must be reported to a member of staff immediately.
Children must remove their shoes.
Waves Soft Play
Cancellations & refunds:
Should you wish to cancel your Wild Play session, please note that Make Waves Swim School Ltd can only provide a voucher for an alternative session if you cancel 48 hours or more before the session starts. This includes termly bookings.
Wild Plays sessions are 1.5 hours duration. For off-peak classes Monday- Friday (term-time only), customers can receive 1 hour Soft Play following the session, subject to availability. This is not included during our peak-time sessions at weekends and during school holidays.
Rules of Play:
All children must be accompanied by an Adult (18+)
Children are the guardian’s responsibility in the Wild Play area and should be supervised at all times
Children should be encouraged to use the toilet before entering the play area. A portable toilet is available within the Wild Play centre and mains toilets are available within the Soft Play area if required.
Children who are unwell must NOT enter the Wild Play centre.
Any accident or injury must be reported to a member of staff immediately.
Please keep vehicles out of the sand.
Safe play should be encouraged.
If any toy has been in your child’s mouth, please place it in our hygiene box.
Do not crash our vehicles into each other or any other objects.
Please treat our toys and equipment with respect.
All hot drinks within the Wild Play centre must be in cups with lids on
Please discourage children from throwing sand. Sand must remain in the sand pit.
Parties (Soft Play and Wild Play)
Cancellations:
A 50% deposit is required on booking. Deposits are non refundable. The outstanding balance is due 14 days before the party date. Cancellations made by the customer within 14 days of the party date will not be eligible for a refund.
For any cancellations made by Make Waves Swim School LTD, the customer will receive a credit of the full amount to their Make Waves account. We reserve the right to cancel at any point. We welcome special requests, however we can not guarantee that these can be fulfilled.
Rules of Play for Parties:
Guardians are responsible for the supervision of all children in their care at all times. It is the parents/ guardians responsibility to supervise children on the drop slide and any of the play equipment.
We provide members of staff who are first aid trained, any children who suffer from sickness, diarrhoea or contagious conditions will not be allowed within Waves Soft Play.
Soft play customers must remove their shoes before playing and for hygiene reasons MUST wear socks, and appropriate clothing. Wild play customers must keep their shoes on.
We advise that children wear long sleeves and trousers/leggings without any ropes or cords, remove objects from pockets and leave personal items with a guardian; we cannot accept any liability for losses or thefts.
Age restrictions are necessary for the safe use of equipment; children must play in the age-appropriate area.
Only food and drink purchased in Waves Soft Play may be consumed on the premises unless otherwise agreed for dietary/allergy/religious reasons
Photography must be restricted to your own children only, and we ask you do not stand at the bottom of the slide to take photos, management may ask to see photos if a complaint is made.
Fighting or inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated; any parties may be asked to leave.
All customers must abide by all written and verbal instructions from staff. We do not tolerate any form of abuse towards staff.
Sparkler/firework candles and latex balloons are prohibited.
Seahorse Squad Membership (Swimmers use of soft play)
Make Waves Swim School Ltd swimmers will receive a Seahorse Squad membership to Waves Soft Play. This entitles FREE access for the swimmer and one grown-up during off peak times (weekdays during term time) only.
Non-Swimmers are to pay the usual price.
Swimmers must see reception to obtain a stamp prior to entering Waves Soft Play and Coral Cove Café.
Swimmers may attend the session before or after their lessons during peak times (weekends and school holidays), subject to availability. Please check with reception first.
Seahorse Squad memberships will be revoked upon cancellation of swimming lessons.
Waves Soft Play Session times and Terms and Conditions must be followed.
Seahorse Squad memberships cannot be transferred, sold, exchanged or used for any other purpose.
Seahorse cards may not be used in conjunction with any other event or pool-based session.
Waves Wild Play is not a part of this offer.
Make Waves reserve the rights to cancel individual cards or the scheme without consultation or communication.
If swim payments are not fulfilled, Seahorse Squad cards will be cancelled.
This also applies to pool hire attendees. Note – If the weather is poor, it is best to book and pay in advance to guarantee entry as free entry is unlikely to be available.
