An Experienced Team.

With over 22 years of experience in the education sector, Mary Billing leads the team at Make Waves Nursery & Pre School with a genuine passion for helping children thrive during the most important years of their development.

Mary began her career working within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) before qualifying as a primary school teacher, gaining valuable experience across a variety of educational settings. Throughout her career, she discovered that her true calling was supporting children in their earliest years, recognising that the first three years of life provide the foundations for confidence, curiosity, and lifelong learning.

With a Postgraduate Degree in Child Development, she combines this academic expertise with decades of practical experience to create an environment where every child feels safe, valued and inspired to learn through play.

Mary is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of care and education, working closely with both families and the wider nursery team to ensure every child receives the individual support they need, while fostering a warm, nurturing atmosphere where children can build confidence, develop key life skills and enjoy every step of their early years journey.

Mary is supported by a highly experienced and passionate team of early years professionals. Every member of the team holds recognised childcare qualifications ranging from Level 2s to Level 4, as well as some staff fully trained in Paediatric First Aid.

Together, the team brings a wealth of experience from a variety of backgrounds, including EYFS settings, school-based nurseries, Action for Children and Forest School environments. This breadth of knowledge allows Make Waves Nursery to offer a rich, varied learning experience that supports every child's individual interests, abilities and development.

Mary and her team are committed to giving every child the very best start in life, creating a nurturing environment where children feel confident to play, discover, learn and grow every day.
