Why swimming crash courses make a real difference to swimmers.

Have you ever thought about how a crash course in swimming could be a game changer for your child? At Make Waves, we believe that  jumping into our 4 day swimming crash courses can be one of the best ways to boost confidence and make real progress in the water.

Why should you consider a swimming crash course?

  • Fast-Tracking Swimmers Progress: Imagine packing weeks of learning into just a few days. Our crash courses offer four, daily lessons that help to overcome challenges and build confidence quickly. This consistent practice leads to noticeable improvements, making swimming more enjoyable. Children can consolidate and add to their skills with far more success when not needing to wait a full week between practises.

  • Tailored sessions based on skills: From nervous beginner swimmers to those looking to fast track more advanced skills, our crash courses are banded into swimmers' initial abilities, ensuring learning can be focused on relevant skills within the water. Tina will assess the children and adapt the lessons to suit each group.

  • Personalised Attention: With small class sizes of just 4 swimmers, and the teacher in the water, whether it's mastering a particular stroke, or the confidence to swim unaided for the first time, each swimmer gets the focus they need.

Leading our crash courses is our extremely knowledgeable co-founder, Tina, who brings a wealth of experience and a personal touch to every lesson. Tina's journey began in Western Australia, where she managed one of the country's largest swim schools, before relocating to Bideford, North Devon. Her passion for teaching and her belief in the importance of swimming as a life skill form a cornerstone of the Make Waves leadership team.

"I’ve always firmly believed that swimming is a vital life skill, and everyone should have the opportunity to learn it. Seeing the progress that  swimmers make in  our crash courses is always so personally rewarding. So many of our students continue this progress in their regular, weekly lessons beyond the course too."
