Level 3 Early Years Practitioner
Make Waves Nursery is looking for a Level 3 Early Years Practitioner to join the team from January 2025.
The successful candidate will be providing our 3 months - 5 year olds a caring and nurturing environment to help our children learn and develop. Make Waves Nursery is located within our existing Bideford Swim School and Soft play site and will be open Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm.
Essential
A level 3 or above qualification in early years.
DBS Check
At least 2 years relevant childcare experience with children aged 3 months - 5 years
Main responsibilities
To deliver a high standard of learning, development and care for children aged 3 months - 5 years
To help ensure Make Waves Nursery is a safe environment for children and staff
To develop effective partnerships with parents and to increase their involvement in their child’s development
To implement planning for children aged 3 months - 5 years
Create observations and monitor development for children aged 3 months - 5 years
Be a key worker to children aged 3 months - 5 years
Main activities
To provide a safe, caring, stimulating educational environment, both indoors and outdoors at all times.
To deliver an appropriate play based Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum that enables children to make individual progress.
To work with parents and other professionals for the benefit of the children and parents.
To help ensure the nursery meets Ofsted requirements at all times.
To work with other professionals in the local area for the benefit of the children and their families.
To understand and work to the Make Waves Nursery policies and procedures, including how to deal with children protection issues and how to respond with incidents and accidents.
To plan activities which ensure each child is working towards the early years learning outcomes.
To fulfil effectively the role of the key person.
To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed, in accordance with the Make Waves Nursery aims and objectives in liaison with the Nursery Manager or Nursery Deputy.

A part time position is available for 15 - 20 hours a week, beginning in January 2025. For the right candidate this could lead to a full time position.
